The National Committee meeting of the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC), held on Saturday in Havana, adopted a statement demanding the release of the five Cuban anti-terrorists imprisoned in the United States, based on new evidence of manipulating actions by that government to engage journalists in Miami to condition the criteria of the community and the jury.
UPEC also announced that it will open on June 4th a cartoon exhibition by Gerardo Hernandez, for his birthday and that of Antonio Guerrero, who along with Ramon Labañino, Fernando González and René González, are serving unjust sentences criticized by Nobel prize winners and former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, among others.
