The Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC) in the special municipality of Isle of Youth, South of Havana,  joins all progressive organizations in the world demanding the freedom of the Cuban Five, to convene, on June 24- 25, the Internet Forum " No more injustice, Free them now, which will be held as part of the celebration of the seventh edition of the “Common Front of Ideas. "

Under the slogan "We fight when the truth is told," the world's Internet users can express their doubts and opinions about the unjust sentences given to Gerardo, Antonio, René, Ramón and Fernando,  who for more than 12 years have been subjected to cruel and inhumane confinement and a judicial processed marked by political bias, which has violated U.S. and International Law.

While this injustice continues, international terrorist Luis Posada Carriles, --a fugitive of Venezuelan justice and responsible for the bombing in mid air of a Cuban airliner off the coasts of Barbados on October 6, 1976 - was acquitted by a Texas court in a trial that lasted three months and cost millions of dollars. There was a farce. Posada Carriles was not charged with terrorism or murder, for the deaths in Barbados or the death of a young Italian tourist at a Havana hotel, but simply for having lied to US immigration authorities on his illegal entry into U.S. territory.

The real reason for the five to have been imprisoned was their actions  to prevent Posada Carriles and other terrorists of Miami mafia circles from continuing with their criminal actions against Cuba and against the U.S people.

The big corporations continue to raise a wall of silence against the cause of the Five. In facing this conflict, we are obliged, as the president of the Cuban Parliament, Ricardo Alarcón has stated-to instill renewed spirit to the battle for their freedom, using the alternative media (Twitter and Facebook) and in particular the possibilities offered by new technologies.

In doing so, Cuban journalists must be in the vanguard.

The Portal of the Cuban Radio on the Internet (www.radiocubana.cu) will be the platform for the forum. A group of journalists and experts will answer questions from participants.
