The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and President Raul Castro visited with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez in Havana on Friday.

The three officials reviewed the close links between Venezuela and Cuba, and discussed diverse international issues, Granma newspaper reported on Saturday.

Chavez is currently recovering satisfactorily, following doctor’s orders, and, in close coordination with his vice president and other Venezuelan ministers, closely following the most important issues in his country, the Granma reported.

Cuban Five Send Get-Well Message to Hugo Chavez

The five Cuban antiterrorist fighters who have been unjustly imprisoned in the United States since their rigged trial, sent Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez a message wishing him a speedy recovery, Granma newspaper reported Saturday.

Dear comrade Hugo Chavez:

The news of your medical condition has reached us in our cells in the belly of the empire.

We wish you a speedy recovery so that you can return fully to your work, to which you devote yourself with so much passion, effort and commitment.

We hope you are now devoting yourself with the same enthusiasm to the restoration of your health.

Our America and all of humanity need you for many years, vibrant and full of energy, to wage together all of the new battles required by an absurd world, in danger of self-destruction at the hands of a handful of fanatics of capital.

Don’t waste away on us. We urgently need your vital to prevent them from wasting us away.
