The appointment of the former Venezuelan Minister of Science and Technology took place after his speech, following the swearing in ceremony held at the National Assembly in Caracas.

 

During his speech, Maduro informed that he had officially contacted Tibisay Lucena, president of the National Electoral Council, to immediately call an election, as established by the Bolivarian Constitution.
