The ecologic organization “The Ant” from the province of Pastaza, located in Ecuador will make a proposal to the Ecuadorian Committee “In favor of justice for the five Cuban” for it to begin the necessary arrangements of what would be the first stage of a project so-called “Thousand kilometers for their freedom”. The Ecuadorian’s project is aimed at joining the claim of people around the world for the immediately release of the five Cuban unjustly incarcerated in several US prisons for just to struggle against terrorism.
The Ecuadorian young people Diego Escobar, who is the coordinator of that youth organization, released at a meeting of solidarity with Cuba on Friday 16 in the city of Puyo that the organization members want to begin their proposal of struggling through a 500 kilometers long walk, from the province of Ciego de Avila to the Anti-imperialist Tribune in Havana, and carry out actions in favor of the “Five” along their way.The political and cultural ceremony for solidarity with Cuba and the “Five” was chaired by the Governor Pastaza Raquel Morante.
Four years ago, this non-governmental organization arranged a walk from “El Puyo” to Quito to protest against those attempts of signing an agreement of free trade with the United States and to claim the withdrawal of the US petroleum company OXY.
The project so called “Thousand kilometers for their freedom” would have a second stage¬; other 500 kilometers to be walked in Venezuela as a gesture of solidarity with the people of Bolivar, “ The Liberator”, in occasion of the bicentenary of the first call for the independence in Latin America.
