The Network of Writers for the ALBA (the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America) champions the immediate freeing of the five Cuban antiterrorists incarcerated in the United States.
We join the voices from around the world demanding the U.S. government the release from prison of Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González, Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino and René González, reads the official communiqué by the group, published on its portal on Thursday.
All of us, members of the Network of Writers for the ALBA, assume the unrestricted commitment to join, shoulder to shoulder, the struggles, the battles and the noblest destinations of the peoples, so we echo the cause of The Five, adds the text.
Lastly, the Network calls for artists on the planet, social activists, personalities and organizations to adhere to the cause of these youngsters imprisoned in maximum security prisons for 12 years now for warning the Caribbean island about terrorist plans conceived in the United States.
The bloc of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America is made up by Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Bolivia, Antigua & Barbuda and Dominica. The network brings together writers in the continent who support this initiative of integration.
