Over 300 delegates from 50 countries representing all parts of the world will attend the 6th International Symposium for the Release of the Cuban Five and against Terrorism, to be held from November 17th through November 21st in Holguín, an expression of the strength of the movement in solidarity with their cause.
At a press conference, the vice-president of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Basilio Gutierrez, tackled the need to continue trying to break the silence around the issue of the Cuban Five, particularly in the United States; to put an end to injustice while terrorists like Orlando Bosch and Posada Carriles walk freely down the streets of Miami; and to advocate for entry visas for Adriana and Olga, who have not been able to visit their husbands imprisoned in US territory.
The event will also be attended by European social leaders, social activists, parliamentarians and major groups of grassroots activists of the Campaign for The Five, and representatives of the Liberation Committee and the Solidarity Committee of the United States, many of which work in alternative media.
For this occasion, as of October 28, a web site dedicated to the symposium will be available (www.radioangulo.cu / Vicoloquio), which will publish documents and will have links to letters and videos of the movement of solidarity, and where an interactive forum will be held. The latter will begin at 10:00 a.m. on November 18 and will propose themes of your choice, starting with 10. The promotion will be carried out through Computer Clubs, media outlets and social networks.
The Web site’s home page will show the activities and workshops held during the event and the announcement will be available in four languages. The same thing will happen with the main and optional programs.
The page, on the Joomla platform, includes statistic data on the number of visits; it’s simple and will be available for approximately 15 days.
This time, the Symposium will also be promoted in the social networks Facebook and Twitter, administered from the newspaper Ahora, for which the users Coloquio Cinco and 6tocoloquio5, respectively, have been created.
