No Cuban escapes from the effects of the blockade. Age, sex, race, social position, education level, religious beliefs or political affiliation does not matter. Cuba does not exaggerate when it speaks of genocide. The economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States during the last 50 years targets all of us.

Time has turned this measure a part of our daily lives. Millions on the island do not know any other way of living under this terrible measure and the Cuban people have done miracles to resist and open paths towards development and leave imperialism with the desire of destroying the Revolution or starving out the Cuban people.

The family demand justice

Members of a family in which terrorist Luis Posada Carriles and Orlando Bosh sowed the seed of grief on October 6, 1976 live on 138 Rosario St. in the city of Camagüey, Cuba.

They are Dora Machado Callejas and her daughter Inés Indira Luaces Machado; friend and niece, respectively, of Camaguey-born young sport woman Inés Luaces Sánchez, who died when a DC-8 Cubana airliner exploited near the coast of Barbados 34 years ago.

En cuanto libro se escribe acerca de técnicas de redacción para la radio, aparece más de una vez la advertencia de lo necesaria que resulta la reiteración. Téngase en cuenta que todo lo que se dice "al aire" ahí queda, y que las posibilidades de la memoria son limitadas en cuanto a retener información. Ese es el motivo por el cual muchas personas entienden a su manera las noticias, y cuantiosas aquellas que les dan una interpretación diametralmente opuesta a lo que se expresó por la radio.

Por estos días conmemoramos el Aniversario 85 del surgimiento de la Radio cubana, y me viene a la memoria un nombre esencial de las letras hispanoamericanas y la Radio en nuestro país: Alejo Carpentier.
