I am very honored to talk about, when we celebrate today the 57 anniversary of the heroic event by a group of young men who believes in their convictions, their love to the country to become Cuba in a freedom nation, the great America, said Minister of Electric Energy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Ali Rodriguez Araque, who at the beginning of his speech sent a salutation message to Fidel, who is always young, vital, heroic and healthy.

Villa Clara's people hold the National Rebelliousness Day following the example of Che

With the historical legacy inspired by Commander Ernesto Che Guevara along with his heroic guerrillas of internationalist combatants, people from the province of Villa Clara are holding today the National Rebelliousness Day and they promise to work hard to contribute to the social, political, and economical development, first secretary of Party in Villa Clara Lima Corcho expressed in the ceremony in commemoration of the 57 anniversary of the storming to the Moncada and Carlos Manuel Cespedes Garrisons.

Lima Corzo congratulated the provinces of Havana, Ciego de Avila and Granma, which turned out to be winner at the emulation for the venue of July 26 and stressed the commitment by Villa Clara’s people of: “Not to allow the homeland die”. The participation of 90 000 compatriots attending the sculptural complex Ernesto Che Guevara to hold July 26 proves the previously statement.

The National Central Act for the 57 anniversary of the attack to Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes barracks will be held on Monday July 26 at 7:30 am at Commander Ernesto Che Guevara Square in Santa Clara. President of the Councils of State and Ministers will preside over the commemoration.

More than 100 000 residents from Villa Clara, representing the people of this province, which is the venue of the commemoration, this important place is completely organized and decorated for the event with Cuban and July 26 flags, large fences on both sides with revolutionary slogans.

"We must put all our trust in reaching the victory; but if we were destined to failure, we would have to behave ourselves like brave men, despite of defeat. Anyway, what it happens on Moncada Garrison will be released some day; it will be part of the history, and our willingness to died for the homeland will be followed by all young people in Cuba.

Melba Hernandez the heroine of Moncada attack

On July 25, 1953 at Siboney Farm in Santiago de Cuba Santiago de Cub, Melba Hernandez, along with Haydee Santamaria, ironed uniforms  and prepared the limited food  for young people who hours later attacked Moncada barrack.

Fifty-seven years later, the brave heroine celebrated in advance her 89 birthday, with songs and poems that gave her the pioneers, whose commitments and feelings, said Sergei Martin Guerra, president of the organization in the province when he highlighted that Cuban men and women will always defend the nation.

The scientific community of Villa Clara was one of the sectors that helped the province obtained the venue of the main event for the National Rebellion Day.  More than 300 projects are being carried out which significant results have influenced, in a satisfactory way, on the economic and social fields.

Dr. Maria del Carmen Velasco, from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) in Villa Clara, said that that the greatest efforts have been directed to high priority sectors such as food production, electric power saving, diversification of the sugar industry, house building, and Social Sciences and Humanities.
