A large amount of personal web sites, social networks as well as the written and digital press in Latin America and Europe have published the main ceremony in Ciego de Avila for the 58th anniversary of the storming of the Moncada and Carlos Manuel Cespedes Garrisons, an event that took place on July 26, 1953.

Under title “Celebration and Reflection on July 26, “ the Página 12 newspaper published the words expressed by Cuban Vice President Machado Ventura, who  informed the Cuban people of the struggle against labor indiscipline, lack of control of resources and the bureaucratic actions within the socialist model following the Party rules.

Commander Hugo Chavez Frias sent an vibrant message to Cuban President Raul Castro Ruz and all the Cuba people for the celebration of the main event for the National Rebellion Day this July 26th in Ciego de Avila.

In his message, Chavez passed on revolutionary and socialist greetings, and expressed his endless love for the fraternal Cuban people, for he whom he feels gratitude and admiration. 

The Bolivarian president stressed that the event which happened on July 26, 1953 changed Cuba’s history forever, brilliant and historic, which challenges people to constantly follow its example of dignity.

With the presence of President of the Councils of State and Ministers and Army General Raul Castro Ruz, who was wearing a spotless white guayabera, the cultural-political ceremony for the National Rebellion Day celebration was initiated in the in the central province of Ciego de Avila, where some 60,000 locals and visitors from other parts of the country and friendly nations came early in the morning.

Cuba's national and international television and radio stations will broadcast live at 07:00 local time (11:00 GMT) the ceremony marking National Rebel Day.

The Maximo Gomez Revolution Square, in the eastern province of Ciego Avila, will host the rally on the 58th anniversary of the storm on Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes barracks in Santiago de Cuba and Bayamo, respectively.

Ciego de Avila was granted the venue of the celebration for its outstanding progress in achieving socio-economic goals, the media highlighted.

A representation of the solidarity brigades with Cuba “Juan Rius Rivera”, of Puerto Rico; “Venceremos”, of the United States and the 22th caravan of friendship US-Cuba, of inter-religious group “Pastores por la Paz”, also from that nation, will celebrate together the people from Ciego de Avila province –venue of the event- National Rebellion Day, on July26.

According to Mercedes Mendez Fariñas, a specialist of the provincial delegation of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), the visit of those brigades to Ciego de Avila includes tours of historical sites in the capital of the province,  exchanges with officials of the Communist Party of Cuba, the provincial Government, political and mass organizations, as well as with members of the Young Communist League and Department of International Relations of the People's Assembly of Ciego de Avila.

Without giving up dreams of justice, Cuban people have kept to its position despite of challenges, threats and attempts of blackmails, first vice- President of Council of States and Ministries Jose Ramon Machado Ventura during his speech at the ceremony at the 57 anniversary of the storming to Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes garrisons, which took placed at Ernesto Che Guevara Square, in the province of Villa Clara.

Machado Ventura stressed the steps forward in the fields of economy and society in the provinces of Ciego de Avila, Granma and Havana, which won honorable mentions at the emulation of the National Rebelliousness Day, and specially Villa Clara’s contribution. “It is not emulation for the triumph, but an emulation that rewards the efforts, achievements, and for having done the duty, “he said.
