A large amount of personal web sites, social networks as well as the written and digital press in Latin America and Europe have published the main ceremony in Ciego de Avila for the 58th anniversary of the storming of the Moncada and Carlos Manuel Cespedes Garrisons, an event that took place on July 26, 1953.
Under title “Celebration and Reflection on July 26, “ the Página 12 newspaper published the words expressed by Cuban Vice President Machado Ventura, who informed the Cuban people of the struggle against labor indiscipline, lack of control of resources and the bureaucratic actions within the socialist model following the Party rules.
El Salvador’s newspapers published an event that took place at the “Nuestra America” Cultural Center in that country, where a documentary called “Ode to Revolution” was presented. In which, the chargé d’affaires at the Cuban Embassy to El Salvador Reinaldo Rodriguez stressed the significance of date July 26 for Cuba and Latin America.
On the other side, the Youtube free channel, social networks Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ emphasized in their news coverage of the July 26 ceremony the presence of many friends in solidarity with Cuba, such as the “Venceremos”, Juan Rius Rivera Brigades, the Caravan of Pastors for Peace, as well as the presence of President Raul Castro.
The kaosenlared.net digital magazine published on its homepage that the best way to celebrate the July 26 commemoration is providing solidarity, and it calls all the revolutionaries of the world to continue condemning the US blockade against Cuba and the unjust sentence of the Cuban Five political prisoners in U.S. jails.
There are many reasons to celebrate the National Rebellion Day in Cuba, which were published in this digital magazine:
• In Honduras, 15 journalists have been killed in a year and a half, not one in Cuba
• In Colombia, the District Attorney’s Office is investigating 3,000 extrajudicial executions and 27 trade unionists that have been murdered, not one in Cuba.
• In Latin America, 52.5 million people are undernourished, not in Cuba.
• In Europe, the average unemployment rate exceeds 10%, double that in Spain. In Cuba, the unemployment rate is the lowest in Latin America.
•In Cuba, no girl or boy is starving. There are 6 million children under 5 years who are dying annually from hunger and malnutrition worldwide.
