The graduation of more than 2000 health professionals, as a celebration of solidarity and friendship among peoples, took place at Serafin Ruiz de Serate University of Medical Sciences located in the province of Villa Clara, where the graduates finished their Medicine studies with commitments of professional ethic and disinterested dedication.
Rector of the Academic Institution Dr. José Luis Aparicio presented the first secretary of the party in Villa Clara Lima July Corzo a diploma in recognition of the permanent achievements reached by locals in all fields over the past 12 years, which made possible that the province be the venue of the main ceremony to hold the Day of National Rebellion.
During the ceremony that took place at Camilo Cienfuegos movie theater, it was announced that there were 245 graduates, representing the 12% from 21 countries, which is a clear sign of Cuba’s efforts to train professionals that help to the improvement of their people’s quality of life.
"Feel the glory of serving the homeland, which means to serve the humanity. Leave the country with the simplicity that characterizes real patriots, because this diploma you are receiving today is a symbol of passion for health and happiness of the peoples, “Dr. Aparicio said before the audience.
The graduates lived emotional moments when receiving their diplomas; likewise those integral students obtained recognition for their good results at school like Giselle Castillo, a graduate of Stomatology specialty, who expressed that they have the commitment of providing an excellent service.
Special moments were also dedicated to honor those members of the Internationalist Brigade Mario Muñoz Monroy, just after coming from Venezuela, where provided medical assistance in remote areas during the sixth and last year of their studies .
Nóbrega Dr. Ismael Cabrera, a member of that medical brigade who served his mission in the state of Amazonas, said that he felt great emotion for having helped those needed, in a humble way, in that sister country; and he felt proud of returning to his province, Villa Clara, which is getting ready to hold July 26.
Moreover, some of foreign graduates expressed their gratitude and said goodbye to Cuban university classrooms. One of them, the President of the Council of Nationalities, the Argentinan Sebastian Tioso, who was the best student, said that they will take to their countries the education and love of Cuba, as well as the Che Guevara’s legacy , who sai that becoming a doctor means to dedicate oneself to the humanity .
This graduation of Medical University of Villa Clara is the second biggest one in this Institution, and was dedicated to the 57 Anniversary of the attacks to Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Garrisons.
