Cuban Radio Festivals
The visual artists who participated in the closing day of the Festival of Radio and Television Cuba 2013 and International Expo-Fair, adopted a final declaration which was accepted with pleasure the integrated proposal of the pan-Arab satellite channel Al Mayadeen , to form a network of stations and Channels in Defense of Humanity .
The Cuban Radio and Television Broadcasting Festival Cuba 2013 concluded this Friday in Havana with the prize-giving ceremony Sonido para ver and Cubavision to the best productions held at Havana´s Convention Center.
The radio program ¨Venticuatro de marzo: Dia de la Memoria, por la Verdad y la Justicia¨by Argentinean director Hugo J Lopez and the television documentary serial ¨Habitat¨, directed by Cuban Randol Menendez were the great awards of the event, while the Great Award to the best foreign program was to the documentary ¨Baraksat´´ by producer Fadi Nasseredin.
The choices for a radio and television alternative to produce identy and culture as well as the challenge now facing by public media from Latin American and the Caribbean, was the issue to inaugurate the Radio and Television festival 2013, which groups hundreds of creators of the audiovisual media from Cuba and the world at the Havana Conventin center Ithe capital city.
Doctor Maribel Acosta , titular professor of the Communication Faculty, evaluated in her conference the escencial aspects of communication and its social impact. Regarding this issue professor Sonia Gonzalez Rivero, journalist and director general of YANSA Comunicacion from Mexico referred to the Television of public interest, facing the challenges of homogenization.
Cuban First Vice President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, today called for greater commitment from audiovisual production to face the pseudo culture imposed by the hegemonic media, in the opening sessions of the International Festival of Radio and Television Cuba 2013.
Diaz-Canel stressed that the Festival can contribute to the construction of an alternative communication model where the human being is the main thing. Likewise, he highlighted the role that the media can have in this struggle against the banality and consumerism, in order to prioritize human beings instead, reported Prensa Latina news agency.
