Cuban culture and specially the radio and television lament today February 8th reported with deep sorrow the passing away of the popular actress, Maria de los Angeles Santana and the notable writer Nora Mendoza, two great women who have left their legacy and art to the future generations of Cuban creators.
Nora Mendoza, popular writer of radio and television has also passed away. She was an outstanding professional and a witer implicated in her time, she also adapted the important books of the universal literature for the dramatized programs among them: la Tia Tula, Doña Perfecta, Casa de Muñecas and Manuela Saenz.
Nora Mendoza made incursions into humor with great success, having a great impact in our listeners and viewers with her plays of a literary genre dealing with local customs, she wrote over 20 comedies for the television and a great many of historical scripts for the Cuban Radio. When dying, she was awarded with the Alejo Carpentier Order, the National Culture Distinction and the Condition of Artist of Merit of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television.
