Radio and TV professionals addressed the main challenges and concerns related with the profession of announcing, during the First Conference on Radio and TV Announcing held in the eastern city of Guantanamo.
The gathering also focused on impact by the art of communication and the media on different sectors of society, while some of the more common errors in Cuban announcing were at the center of the presentations.
The jury, made up of prestigious radio announcers, acknowledged the contribution by the research study titled "Del verbo a la magia del locutor” (From the Word to the Magic of the Announcer) by Odalis Borges from Radio Bahia, in the Guantanamo town of Caimanera.
Borges will also take to the national forum on announcing some of the most common mistakes in pronunciation, reading and the emphasis in the discourse.
The meeting recognized the legacy of the missing Aristides Mejias and Arnaldo Nordet, in addition to the work of Pedro Perez and Olga Salazar in the training of young announcers.
The First Provincial Conference on Radio and TV Announcing revealed the need to promote the exchange of expertise and training to boost techniques of communication that help achieve a radio and television product of high aesthetic value.
Radio Trinchera Antimperialista and the Announcing Department called the event in the context of the celebrations for the 74th anniversary of CMKS radio station, founded on June 27, 1937.
The staff of Radio at Guantanamo seeks to consolidate the meeting as a space for creation, research and smart dialogue for radio announcers in easternmost of Cuba.
