All Cuban citizens over 16 years of age have been called to exercise our sacred right to vote next Sunday. As we have done over the past 30 years, when the People’s Power bodies (parliament and government offices) were created, the Cuban people have ratified or renewed our representatives accordingly and with it we have maintained our participatory democracy.  
In this historic and crucial moment for our nation, our turnout is an act which, being an inalienable civic and democratic right exercised with full freedom, constitutes our response to one more call by our history to defend our national sovereignty.  

Our turnout at voting stations to exercise direct and secret vote for those who were nominated, and according to our own choice of the ones we think will be our best representative at the Municipal Assemblies (local governments) will also encompasses our response to current media campaigns launched from abroad to revert a historic process that the Cuban nation has developed for over half a century. 

Next Sunday’s elections will be the strongest and most determined response to the fabrications against Cuba by foreign interests.  

The electoral event on April 25th will turn into our encounter with our own consciousness and history and it will be a development as outstanding as other battles waged over one hundred years ago by our independence fighters in the Cuban fields, and later by the heirs of the Moncada attack, the Granma Yatch and the Sierra Maestra Mountain Range.   

Next Sunday, our Homeland is calling and we, as Cubans of Honor will respond to this call.
