Cuba celebrated June 1st International Childhood’s Day, convinced that neither global crisis nor imperial blockades can wipe the smile of their children and their happiness. Pioneer collective facilities, plazas, libraries, computer and video clubs, parks, homes for children without parental protection, hospitals and pediatric wards: everywhere was party in a country that devotes each day to live fully the golden age of childhood.
The UN General Assembly in December 1954 agreed to hold an annual International Childhood’s Day, understanding and brotherhood among all children in the world, on the date that each country should decide, and Cuba with the revolutionary government in the power chose June 1st like other nations.
Love, joy and faith in a better world, it is the message from this free nation , a bastion of hope conquered and protected childhood, children and teenagers from all over the world.
Several of the recreational, cultural, sporting and educational options in all municipalities and even at each school, and in so many ways to celebrate also included special interest clubs samples of circles of interest, which these days gather the best fruits of the f vocational training work in students and pioneers collective.
The program looked at the encounter with the best of artistic and literary production for young audiences in Cuba; especially the Fourth International Audiovisual Festival for Children and Adolescents Cubanima 2010 biennial event organized by the Cuban Institute of Art and Industry Film and animation studios.
Pediatric Hospital William Soler was the great venue of the activities, this institution recently turned 50 years of tireless work in defense of health and life, were held in great by Cuban children and the organization that represents and stands for. Children, their families and the dedicated group of workers participated in this activity for those who know how to love.
