Cuban Prominent Journalist Honoured Print E-mail

The National Plenary meeting of correspondents and fan sports clubs in Cuba held in the city of Cienfuegos, chose José Antonio Chapman, a journalist from INDER (the National Institute for Sports, Physical Education and Recreation) from the eastern province of Holguin as the most prominent journalist among all his colleagues in the country.

Chapman’s  press reports are published and highly valued on sports programs at Tele-Cristal television channel , Radio Angulo  and Radio  Holguín stations, “Ahora” weekly journal,  Jit magazine and  digital editions on their websites.

National and international news agencies, the National Sports Newscast as well as Cuban radio and television programs have presented Chapman’s news spots, focusing ong the athletes´ humane side.

Alejandro Ferras Torrente, head of Public Relations and Propaganda Department at the Provincial Sports Direction in Holguin, informed that Champman´s grante recognition is a well deserved  due to for his daily professional dedication on sports.

Chapman is also head of sports shows at the provincial and municipal stations in Holguin, and a member of the Artistic Board and the Commission of Quality representing the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC) at Radio Angulo station.

He has been a prize winner for twelve times as  radio anchor at Provincial Radio Festivals and for five times at  National Radio Festivals.
