Fourth Meeting of Radio Stations from Cuba’s Oldest Seven Cities Opened in Camaguey Print E-mail

The forum, to be held every year on occasion of the founding anniversary of Villa de Santa Maria del Puerto del Principe,  will focus on the exchange of experiences, in order to improve radio station programming entitled to broadcast  the city spirituality to its inhabitants.

 

During the inauguration, Mayor’ Andres Morales referred to the significance of  mass media in the legacy of local culture for the new generations. For this reason, he stated, it is quite important municipal governments unconditionally support these projects and get attached to them, “besides we share the same purpose: to inform the people.

Likewise, he proposed to hold the next meeting in August in Villa de Baracoa, due to the celebration of its 500th  anniversary.

On her part, Radio Camagüey director, Maria Regla Vasallo, on behalf of the organizers, suggested the participants to take advantage of these two days of debate sessions in order to strenghthen the patrimonial values at the radio stations from these cities.
