The workers of the Radio Cadena Habana station analyzed the Draft Guidelines for the Economic and Social Policy of the Party and the Revolution, at a meeting in which the group of workers expressed their criteria and diverse opinions on the crucial issues for the future of the nation that will be passed in the coming 6th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC)

In the plenary, the twelve chapters with their specific issues were discussed, especially as expected the one referring to the management operation of the entities as well as its services to intellectuals and institutions of the State.

The analysis was held with openness and participative democracy and the project’s debate spread beyond the framework of the communist militancy, taking into account the worker’s opinions, amid a transcendental updating process of the Cuban economic model.

In one of the speeches, sound producer, Juan Antonio Basabe said “This battle constitutes the main task and the essence of the political and ideological work of the leaders, with the participation of the people, thus from them depends the sustainability and preservation of our social system.

For his part, the economic vice-director of the institution, Andres Gonzalez proposed the study of feasibility for the mass media in order to obtain incomes though the service provisions to organizations, artists and other sectors of the society. This would contribute to better the work conditions, in the municipal radio stations.

As Army General, Raul Castro said in the recently held Council of Ministers, we must keep our ears open to people’s opinions. In this sense the issues referred to the sectors of education, transportation and agriculture were critically discussed.

The most important meeting of the Cuban communists, scheduled for the second two weeks in April, is vital for a nation which is in the ongoing process of updating its economic and labor model.
