Hundreds of messages on social networks, Cuban digital sites, social and professional blogs have supported the announcement by the International Committee for the Freedom of the Cuban Five antiterrorists prisoners in the United States, to all people fighting for justice for them to support the release of those antiterrorists.

The request of the announcement is to ask for a fax, an e-mail, a telegram or even  a phone call to U.S. President Barack Obama, for him to release these patriots, who are in prison in U.S. jails for defending human life, reads the message issued by the International Committee.

Last Saturday, many people repeated on the Facebook social network the news report published by the blog called Changes in Cuba, which calls for President Obama to use his authority conferred by the U.S. Constitution, to end that terrible injustice.

Also Madrid’s Committee website for Freedom of the Cuban Five called for people to take part in a demonstration scheduled for February 12th, at “La Puerta del Sol” (the Gateway of the sun) square, in that city aimed at demanding the release of those antiterrorists who were arrested and sentenced for infiltrating terrorist groups in the Florida, for gathering information and preventing violent plans against Cuba the U.S people.

The Twitter social network also joined this world call in favor of the Cuban Five by using the hashtags:  # freethefive # Liberenlos5ya as well as tweets sent to @ BarackObama.

The France-Cuba Committee in Val D'Oise attended a solidarity symposium, in which the U.S. blockade against Cuba was condemned and where the participants were called to take part an upcoming a rally in favor of the Cuban Five in Paris.

The Evening for Cuba, held in Pierrelaye municipality, in the region of Ile-de-France, was favorable for the French journalist Maurice Lemoine to launch his novel “Los Cinco Cubanos en Miami” (The Five Cubans in Miami), according to a news report on www.cubaminrex.cu digital site.


With a detailed explanation of over an hour, Lemoine showed, with irrefutable historical, legal and political arguments, the injustice committed against the Cuban patriots, and he looked back over the long list of terrorist actions against the island carried out from U.S. territory

Committees of Solidarity with Cuba and the “Five” in Latin America mainly those in  Venezuela, Panama, Argentina, Uruguay, and Europe, Galicia, Madrid, Malaga , in Spain, as well as the France-Cuba in Val D'Oise Committee, in Ile-de-France region, and Fabio Di Celmo Solidarity Group, in Italy, also joined the call.

Another event related to struggle for the CUBAN FIVE happened out a few days ago, when a billboard with the same ad was put in a place near Miami City Casino, located at the intersection of 37th Avenue and 4th Street at the North West in Miami. Members of Vigilia Mambisa Anti-Cuban Organization, headed by its president Miguel Saavedra created a big ruckus.

This excessive hubbub showed the flawed and harmful environment, which contributed to that murky trial held in Miami against the Five, when they were given unwarranted sentences. They were never considered as they really are: defenders of their homeland against those terrorists who roam the streets and boast with total impunity in that city, in Florida.

Despite that hubbub, the subjugation by the Anti-Cuban mafia and the American extreme right of the press and the mass media; despite the effort to silence the truth, the struggle for the Five’s release is growing day be day. It really is a groundswell in favor of justice and truth.
