La Magia del Sonido is a compilation that from different angles deals with the task of our broadcasting, and its deep experience of nearly 90 years as well as criteria, reflections, ideas of those who have improved the radio as a manner to promote the popular imagination, consciousness, ethics and aesthetics. This is a book with a deep love for the radio.
Such were the words of Norma Galvez, the main compiler of the volume La Magia del Sonido which was launched at the Twentieth Edition of the Book Fair 2011 at the stand of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television, at the San Carlos de la Cabaña fortress in the Cuban capital.
The valuable study of the dramas from specialties such as radio plays or radio serials, as well as the influence and participation of the director and the advisor on the expression of a product for the radio drama were aspects rated by the participants into the most popular event of arts and letters in the island
Dr. Gálvez thanked all radio creators and the En Vivo web site, the possibility of bringing out this great book that joins the efforts of ICRT to have a source to provide and analyze literature for future generations of audiovisual creators, the intricacies that make possible the work of the Radio and Television.
The authors mentioned among the people who helped her to create the compilation, young Marielvis Calzada who has a study of great impact on Theater and Radio convergences, The radio play in Cuba, as well as personalities like Caridad Martinez, director of radio dramas for Radio Progreso and Radio National Award winner, and also Orietta Cordeiro, a writer of the greatest radio productions in Cuba.
La Magia del Sonido includes among the items those related to the use of popular dance music in the programming of the Cuban Radio and the presence and influence of the musicologist on the radio, the phenomenon of aesthetic education through radio, and a reflection on the art of speaking on radio and television, the latter by researcher and journalist Josefa Bracero.
The book launch was attended by, Yusimí González, National Programming Director of the Cuban Radio, Eduardo Mora, a Cuban Television News System journalist, Eduardo Rosillo, renowned Cuban announcer, Caridad Martínez, National Radio Award winner, César Arredondo, radio and television announcer, and Luis Rielo, actor on our media.
