If a memory of pragmatism pervades is because there are people who in spite of the legends have passed through life preserving the word honesty as part of their daily routine. Such is the case of our beloved Commander Juan Almeida Bosque, who was born a day like today but in 1927.

Missing the appearance of a man of his considerable stature, he ennobles the pride of the Cuban people for having had among the leaders of the Revolution a loving father and an efficient combatant, whose depth of feelings allowed  him to be intransigent in his principles and at the same time express through his art, his word in pentagrams.

Almeida was the author of song La Lupe and, at the same time, the rifle as defender of justice. When we remember that on a day like today he was born, we consciously feel his attitude carrying on in the new generations, by not avoiding the difficult path to a better world. Thanks for your imprint Commander Juan Almeida.
