Cuban announcers and researchers met with Ambassador Juan Astiasarán Ceballo, during the Third Hispanic American Scientific Meeting on Announcing being held in the Auditorium of Santo Domingo’s Club Mauricio Báez, in the Dominican Republic.
Announcers from Spain, Cuba, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, Peru, Uruguay, Nicaragua and the United States are attending the event.
The meeting will run for three days. On its first day, Oscar Viñas Ortiz, a representative of the UNEAC (Union of writers and artists of Cuba) in Camaguey province, tackled the subject "Historical Background of Our Hispanic American Announcing Federation"
The Cuban delegation consists of 13 announcers from Radio and Television and is presided over Maria Lina Grau Espinosa, president of the Cuban Association of Radio and Television from UNEAC.
The Dominican communicator and radio worker Dr. Teo Veras got an ovation from all announcers for his presentation called: Digital radio and the new technologies.
