On the occasion of the 54th anniversary of historic event happened on March 13th and in commemoration of student leader José A. Echeverria’s death, the University Student Federation (FEU) will pay homage of remembrance to the heroes and martyrs of that heroic deed.
With collaboration of the Communist Youth Union and the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution, the FEU will hold a ceremony on next March 13th at the Museum of Revolution in Havana on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of the attack to the former Presidential Palace and storming of Radio Reloj station.
FEU National President Maydel Gomez announced at Radio Reloj station that from March 13th until next April the University students will hold the symposium: “In memorial of our homeland”.
The President stated that the program includes lectures and talks on life and work of José Antonio Echeverría and his fellows of struggle.
Also, as part of the homage, the University students will put wreaths before the plaque where José Antonio Echeverría passed died.
On March 13th, University students will pay homage in remembrance to those martyrs in the Colon Cemetery, at the Pantheon erected to the Martyrs of the revolution.
FEU members together with workers of the Radio Reloj station will attend a ceremony at the station, which would be translated into an action of revolutionary reaffirmation and unity of the Communist Party.
Locals from Cardenas, in the western province of Matanzas, will carry out a pilgrimage from the house where José Antonio Echeverría was born –current museum – to the cemetery where Jose Antonio Echevaerria’s body remains are laid.
