“You are a role model to follow in the profession, in the self-improvement, in the search for the necessary knowledge in the development of the latest trends in journalism”, expressed the president of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television, Danilo Sirio in a letter today.
On the occasion of the Cuban Press Day, March 14 as a tribute to the date on which was published the first edition of Patria newspaper in 1892 by Jose Marti, Danilo Sirio sent a warm greeting to the radio and television journalists and exhorted them to continue Marti’s work, in a different time, a free nation, with the ideological adversaries equipped with the most powerful technological resources.
The Revolution needs that journalists be much concerned about the analysis of the main problems of our social context, about the causes as well as to argue this battle for order, discipline and efficiency.
Sirio called on journalists and workers of the news audiovisual media to work with professionalism in the current challenges and in the updating of our economic and social model, as was stated by comrade Raul.
Today we pay tribute to all Cuban news professionals, to the press media workers in general and to the greatest journalist, our dear Fidel, who with knowledge and example has traced the route to be followed, we send grateful congratulation to the ICRT workers and from a people that thanks them for the daily effort and dedication to this noble cause of informing, stressed the missive.
