Anthropology and Gender and a book launch on the subject will be the main attractions Thursday at the 2nd Ibero-American Congress of Anthropology, Anthropos 2011, taking place in Havana from March 14 to 18.
The anthropology of gender; science, technology and women, and the book Convergencias en género. Apuntes desde la Sociologia (Convergence in Gender. Refelections on Sociology), will be the focus of experts at this event.
Other topics of interest Thursday will be anthropology, violence and the family. Poster and photo exhibitions related to these issues also will be presented at this congress.
As part of Anthropos 2011, parallel events include the 11th Jesus Montane Symposium of Physical Anthropology, the 7th Congress of Primates as National Heritage, the 5th Symposium on Primates through the Caribbean, and the 4th Anthropology Symposium.
