
Manuel Andres Mazorra granted the Juan Emilio Friguls Journalism Award for a Lifetime's Work.
The Cuban Radio System has granted the “Juan Emilio Friguls” Journalism Award for a Lifetime’s Work of to prestigious professional of Radio Progreso, Manuel Andres Mazorra, for his 50 -year fruitful career linked to the radio and journalism, even in the underground press.
The news was announced in Havana during the Annual Balance Assembly of the base delegations of the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC) of the radio system, on Cuban Press Day, as well as a tribute to the journalists of the Cuban national radio stations.

Isidro Fardales granted the Annual Radio Journalism Award
One of the awarded journalists was; Isidro Fardales of Radio Havana Cuba, who received the Gisela Bell Award, for his excellent work as member of the mission of the Cuban radio in Haiti after the earthquake in January 2010 and the demonstration of his professional skills that allowed him to record and edit interviews and chronicles during more than three months under exceptional conditions, even at risk of his own life.
A mention by the Gisela Bell Award jury was granted to journalist Rosa Maria Godoy, for the excellently make up of her journalistic proposals as well as her demonstrated acquired professional abilities, self-taught, and her careful work as radio announcer.
The journalists of the radio debated about training as the only, and most important, topic of the moment to be able to face, with professionalism, the media campaigns against Cuba and its respective preparation for the 6th Congress of the Communist Party that will be held in April, and where new draft-guidelines will be approved for the Social and Economic Policy of our nation.
