Cesar Arredondo, the most awarded of Cuban radio announcers, was granted in Camagüey the “Radio Lifetime Award”, for his dedication and love of the profession.
The ceremony took place at the Workers Square in the city of Camagüey, where he launched his book ” De Becerra a la Rampa. Memorias de un locutor” (From Becerra to la Rampa. Memories of an announcer), that recollects, as he stated, a great part of his life.
The book‘s presentation was held on Saturday in the community of Becerra, in the municipality of Santa Cruz de Sur when he was born on March 15, 1938.
The introductory words of the book were written by the author and broadcast live by the provincial radio, after a tribute by the Nino Moncada Drama Theater Group.
It was a great opportunity to meet with old acquaintances and the audience from Camaguey.
The activity was also attended by the vice-president of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television, Guillermo Pavon; provincial radio director, Omelio Castillo and outstanding scriptwriter of Radio Progreso, Alberto Luberta.
