Military Parade on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Proclamation of the Socialist Character of the Revolution Print E-mail

With a moment of silence, the National hymn of Cuba and launching of a 21-gun salute, the military inspection and popular parade started in the historic Revolution Square on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the proclamation of the socialist character of the revolution.

President of the Council of states and Ministers Raul Castro, leaders of the Cuban Party, State, Government; delegates for the 6th Congress of the Cuban Party, the participants to the storming of the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Garrisons, combatants of Playa Giron, relatives of the five heroes prisoners of the US Empire and relatives of the terrorism victims presided over the ceremony.

A delegation of the sister republic of South Africa, the diplomatic body, military delegations and delegations of friend parties attended also the ceremony.

At all the squares of the country, popular parades started at 8:00 am, which confirms the unshakable decision of the Cuban people to continue supporting the socialist Revolution.
