Under the precept of changing everything that must be changed, as part of the concept put forward by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, the National Conference of Cuba’s Communist Party will be held on January 28th, 2012, which will provide a current view towards the policy of organization based on rationality, strength and vision of the future.

Among the issues that will be given priority at the meeting are included changing of methods and work styles of the Party to consolidate its leading role and strength in the society and state; changing on the policy of officials putting emphasis on the presence of more women, youngsters, and black people to hold posts of political management and others in enterprises and institutions based on personal merit and conditions and limiting mandates.



During the convocation of the meeting, Cuban First Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura stressed the Party's role in the monitoring and systematic control of the economic model updating, the progress of the economy, the strengthening of the internal democracy and the work of Party, which is becoming more dynamic, with encouragement for the initiative against the schematics and bureaucracy, false unanimity and formalism.

Machado said that the Party’s Conference will also review the links with the Young Communist League of Cuba (UJC) and the mass organizations, and showing its work, leaving behind its prejudice against the non-state sector of the economy.

Machado stressed the need to assess the changes required in order to strengthen the political attention to children and young people and make them to play a leading role in building the new society.

During the call for the National Conference of the Party, it was announced that the documents that will be submitted to the meeting will be previously debated among the members of the Party and its bodies aimed at facing the enemy of the revolution within the current historical context by way of better creativity in the propaganda, and starting with criticism.

Finally, Machado said that the Sixth Congress of the Party is aware of the changes required at these times, for which the National Conference will have the power to assess, establish basic concepts and ideas with a view to changing the statutes and internal and guiding documents of the Party’s structures.
