The United States’ government has requested the Habeas Corpus application for Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo be rejected and a hearing to discuss his arguments as well as the alleged evidence against him not to be granted.
The official stance is compiled in a document with 123 pages and three appendices and was presented to the federal court of Miami by prosecutor Caroline Heck Miller, who has been the main attorney against our compatriot and also refused to prosecute the terrorist Luis Posada Carriles in 2005.
Soon, the defense team for Gerardo’s case will give its reply and Judge Joan Lenard will make a decision.
