Cuba is ready to present on the international market a new technology aimed at early detection of hearing loss in newborns, confirmed the Cuban Neuroscience Center experts.

Dr. Thais Diaz de Villalvilla, a specialist at the Neuronic Company, responsible for marketing the product, said the Pesquisa Universal (EPU) Research team provides stimulation by air and bone, which enables us to discover objectively damage to children's hearing at birth.

This device and the software which complements it were developed by scientists at the center, part of the scientific complex in western Havana.

This technique will reinforce the universal screening program for early detection of disabilities in infants, and the network of neurophysiology clinics in the country, totaling 1,983 in the whole Island, considered the expert.

Neuronic is a national firm, responsible for the marketing of high quality medical technology, which offers a line of diagnostic services and methods of analysis of electrical brain activity, as well as providing high quality products in the field of neuroscience.

Patented by prestigious European certification houses, their equipment is installed in Venezuela, Mexico, Ecuador, Angola, China, Spain and the United Kingdom, among other nations.

Representatives of the organization attended the Exhibition Fair of the Fifth Latin American Congress of Biomedical Engineering, which was held at the Havana’s Convention Center, with 550 delegates from over 30 countries.
