The hearing for the annulment motion filed by US citizen Alan Phillip Gross -sentenced in March to 15 years in prison for crimes against the security of Cuba- took place on July 22 morning in Cuba’s Supreme Court .

While the hearing took place, Gross’ defense lawyer set out the elements holding up the defendant dissatisfaction related to the decision previously taken by the court; meanwhile Alan Phillip Gross put forward the elements he considered relevant, when he was given the last word, and thanked them for the opportunity given to him to explain them in person, in front of the judges of the Supreme Court.

Present at the hearing were consular officials of the US Interests Section in Havana.
Cuba’s Supreme Court will release the final sentence in the coming days.
