Serenade to Fidelity on Radio Progreso and Radio Havana Cuba Print E-mail

The Serenade to Fidelity, a tribute to Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro on his 85th birthday, organized by the Guayasamin Foundation, will be broadcast all across the country and the world by the Radio Progreso and Radio Havana Cuba, beginning this Friday at 9 pm.

 Many artists and intellectuals are already in Havana, to perform from nine in the evening at the Karl Marx Theater in Havana in this cantata. They include Daniel Viglietti and the commander of the Sandinista Revolution Tomas Borges, author of the Casa Award "La montaña es algo mas que una inmensa estepa verde” .

 Alfredo Vera, director of the Guayasamin Foundation and coordinator of the initiative told the media of radio and television this Serenade to Fidelity is also a recognition of 50 years of friendship that the Ecuadorian painter Oswaldo Guayasamin kept with Commander in Chief Fidel Castro.

 Present at the Karl Marx theater are artists from Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, Paraguay, Peru and Ecuador, and Cuba's excellent singer Omara Portuondo.

 About five thousand people will gather for this Serenade to Fidelity to show their support and congratulations to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution on his 85th birthday. The cantata will also be broadcast on Public Radio of Ecuador and Telesur.
