With the aim of training and bringing together all the youngsters interested in producing audiovisual aids in different specialties, the First Audiovisual Production Workshop is being held from August 30 to September 2nd in the central Cuban province of Ciego de Avila.

Maryulis Alfonso Yero, head of Audiovisual Department of Hermanos Saiz Association in the province, reported that on this first day, the event began with the carrying out of a practical workshop of animation for children from the drawing workshops from the local Culture Centre, which will enable them to produce audiovisuals in the different techniques.

“The program includes the carrying out of workshops on children’s animation, movie scripts, production and documentaries as well as talks,”, said Miss Alfonso.

She noted that young people are attending the meeting like: Claudia Calviño, a producer for Producciones 5ta. Avenida, presenters of the Cuban Radio and Television Institute (ICRT) Ivet Ávila and Ramiro Zardoya, screenwriter  Alberto Miguel de la Paz and documentary makers Oneida González and  Gustavo Pérez.

Maryulis Alfonso highlighted that the meeting will conclude with works carried out by all the specialists attending the workshop during evening, which will take place in the patio of National Artists and Writers Association of Cuba in Ciego de Avila.
