The Council of State of the Republic of Cuba, in exercise of the powers conferred and by a proposal from its President, Raul Castro Ruz, has made Agreement number 4800 posthumously granting the honorary title to Army General Julio Casa Regueiro, of "Hero of Work of the Republic of Cuba "

The award was given to Julio Casas Regueiro for his exceptional service record for the Cuban Revolution, its defense and the national economy; his great devotion to work, his exemplary discipline, good sense and efficiency demonstrated in the fulfillment of notable political, state, government and military tasks.

The press release of the Council of State noted that the presentation of the award: the title along with a gold star, was to be carried in a solemn ceremony, during the beginning of a homage of our people in memory of Casas, on September 5 at the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces.
