With solemn song "Cita con Angeles” by Silvio Rodriguez in the background and the photos of the 138 victims of the terrorism of state against Cuba, young people held a patriotic and revolutionary vigil in Havana to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Barbados crime and condemned the injustice committed against the five Cuban antiterrorists unjustly held in U.S. penitentiaries for 13 years now.
Several doctors, who took part in the evening on behalf of the Cuban youth and people, expressed their feelings. One of them, Roger Reyes, who works at the Aero Caribbean Airline, explained: "This is the generation of the children of our heroes thus we are the heirs of their best virtues and principles. We are here to demand justice to be done to the criminals who still walk free in the United States. "
This opinion is backed by Lizardo Reyes, a student at the University of Havana: "Young Cubans know our history and we know all about the aggressions against our country. Therefore we demand an end to these aggressions and we demand justice be done. "
Other participant in the vigil, high school student Liliana Martinez said: "it is an honor to represent the Federation of High School Students (FEEM) and the commitment to their fatherland and the revolution of each person in the country."
The vigil was led by Ricardo Alarcon de Quesada, president of the National Assembly of the People’s Power; Brigadier General Tete Puebla and leaders of the Young Communist League (UJC), who raised their voices to demand justice recalling the words of the leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro in the funeral of the victims of Barbados: "When a firm and virile people cry, injustice trembles."
