The Hermanos Saiz Association (AHS), whose mission is to bring together Cuba’s young creators, celebrates its 25th anniversary from October 14 to 23 with a set of activities to celebrate Cuban Culture Day, which day is celebrated on October 20.
AHS President Luis Morlote explained to the Portal of the Cuban Radio that the celebrations of the 25 years of the organization will pay tribute to the three organizations that preceded the AHS and that it will bring together all the generations of Cuban creators.
One of the activities is the exhibition: “Las métaforas del hereje” (metaphors of the heretic) which compile the labor carried out by the Association since its creation to the present time, with documents, magazines, video clips, picture records of more than 20 artists.
The National Museum of Fine Arts will host the national ceremony for the creation of the association. Outstanding figures of the Cuban culture will receive the 25th anniversary hallmark and some will be acknowledged as ahead of the Seventh Congress of the Culture Workers Union to be celebrated on October.
Some others activities include the presentation of some Cuban movies such as Marina, Habanastation, la Edad de la peseta, El Benny; concerts of Cuban popular music, music concerts for children, launching of books such as the selection of Yuseff and Yanier H. Palao, “La isla en versos”, “Cien poetas cubanos”, among others.
The commemorative activities are sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, the Recordings and Musical Editions Company (EGREM), the Cuban Book Institute and The Cuban Cultural Fund.
