The 7th International Colloquium for the Release of the Cuban Five – the men unjustly imprisoned in the United States for fighting terrorism – will take place in the Cuban province of Holguin from November 16 to 19.

"The symposium shows that the movement for the liberation of the five has reached world dimensions," said Chair of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples Kenia Serrano.

So far, 300 delegates from 41 countries have confirmed attendance. The largest delegations are those from Venezuela and the United States.

Deputy Chair of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples Alicia Corredera said she was pleased with the arrangements made by various institutions taking part in the event.

As part of the activities included in the colloquium, workshops on anti-terrorism activities and meetings of solidarity have been organized in various local communities. Also, university students will take part in a national event to demand the immediate release of the Cuban Five.

The activities included in the program of the event have been publicized in on-line social networks. The details can be found at Twitteren@ColoquioCinco and Coloquio Cinco [http://es-la.facebook.com/people/Coloquio-Cinco/100001791091438] on Facebook.

Since 2006, Holguin has been hosting this event to demand the release of the Cuban Five.
