As previously reported, Pope Benedict XVI announced last December 12 his intention to make an apostolic visit to Mexico and Cuba.
Once the coordination between the organizers of the papal visits, the Cuban authorities and the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Cuba were concluded, visit of the Pope to our country was approved for March 26 to 28.
The Pope will be welcomed in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba, where he will celebrate a mass in the Antonio Maceo Plaza de la Revolución and will visit the National Shrine of the Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre.
The Pope will also visit Havana city, where he will hold an official meeting with Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of the Council of State and Ministers and will meet with the Cuban Catholic bishops.
