
Joseja Bracero, notable audiovisual investigator during the presentation of her book: Women Announcers in Cuba
The value and skills of the Cuban women have been reflected in many occasions. This time one of us decided to praise our strengths by compiling in a book the life and work of great women announcers of the Cuban radio and television.
Journalist, writer, and announcer Josefa Bracero Torres presented her new book: “Mujeres locutoras en Cuba” (Women announcers in Cuba) in the Villena Hall at UNEAC (Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba). A selection of the best Cuban radio announcers of all time is compiled in this book.
The presentation took place with the assistance of many women announcers -some of them gave their testimonies for the book. Liset Vila, an-all star audiovisual producer, acknowledged the work carried our by Bracero in writing and researching the work on Cuban women announcers.
This book should be used as reference for those interested in learning about Cuban women announcers of radio and television. It is also an approach to the history of Cuba.
Several personalities of Cuban culture such as Eva Rodriguez, Ana Margarita Gil, Oneida Hernandez, Aida Rodriguez, Rosalia Arnaez, Maria Dolores Ortiz, among other great figures, received the book from the writer herself.
Josefa Bracero has provided her readers once again with a great book, this time on some of the most valuable of Cuban announcing. The announcers, artists and the people in general praised her latest work, which has a high level of research and also contributes to the publicizing of Cuban Radio and Television history.
