Cuban actress Rosita Fornes received the Divas de la Radio Prize in the western province of Pinar del Rio. This award is given by the Almas audiovisual project, which is sponsored by the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT).
The presentation was carried out at the Jose Jacinto Milanes theater during a show on the occasion of the premiere “La vedette de oro” (The golden cabaret star) a documentary by the producer Leonardo Lezcano, from Pinar del Rio province.
The documentary reflects in more than 20 minutes some passages of Fornes’s private life, the relationship with her children and the beginning of her artistic carrier.
Rosalia Palet Bonavia or Rosita Fornes was born on February 11, 1923. She has received awards such as the “Honor to Merit” in Mexico, where she lived and worked a great part of her life, National Culture Prize and the National Theater Prize.
Fornes was a founder of Cuban television. She worked in humorous programs and drama. For her charisma, Fornes remains in the preference of the international and national public.
