Intellectuals, journalists and social activists called for the use of alternative media and people to people contacts to reinforce the struggle for the return to Cuba of the five anti-terrorist fighters held in the U.S. since 1998.
During a panel held as part of the program of the 8th International Congress on Higher Education, underway in Havana, participants underscored the need to find ways to reach out to the US people so that they influence those who can take decisions that favor the return to Cuba of Fernando González, Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, Gerardo Hernández and René González.
The Higher Education Congress will run until February 17 and it will be debating issues like the commitment of universities to sustainable development, social projects, among others.
