Organization in Cuba’s Defense System
Cuban President Raul Castro highlighted on Saturday in Havana the organization reached by Cuba in its preparedness in a possible military aggression or natural disaster.
The also president of the National Defense Council said that such organization inspires “more respect than any type of weapon”, as a result of the Bastion 20009 strategic military exercises that wound up on Saturday across the island.
After being informed on the operative situation of the Western Army, the Cuban President visited an exploration unit, where he praised the preparation of the new generation of officials.
He spoke to several of the young soldiers during his visit and expressed the recognition in their role in the national defense system.
The Army General also visited the Defense Council in the City of Havana, province whose strategic importance was highlighted.
The Cuban president insisted in the need to consolidate the country’s institutionality in maintaining order and discipline and to reach more rationality in the structures of the leadership.
Bastion 2009 ran for three days during which military manouvers and tactical exercises were held, with troop movement, war materials and armed forces flights.
