Josefa Bracero Torres, writer, journalist, announcer and winner of the Radio National Award, is the author of the book: “Silencio ……se habla”. Renaldo Infante Uribazo, winner of the Radio National Award, wrote the prologue of the book, which was published by Pablo De La Torriente Brau publishing house and launched at the National Association of Cuban Writers and Artists last Monday.
Editor Fermín Romero plus critic and journalist Fernando Rodríguez Sosa labeled the book as poetic-literary and historical style, which ranges from the Cuban Radio creation to 2006.
On the 467 pages dedicated to the Radio in Cuba appear not only distinguish Cuban announcers like Germán Pinelli and Bobby Salama but also first-rate programs such us “Alegrias de Sobremesa and Nocturno”, just to mention those with most largest audience in Cuba, which are broadcast in Radio Progreso octogenarian station.
Among other issues developed with exactness, the book includes a review about the main radio stations in the island, just as the most popular groups and national and foreign artists of all times that have performed in the radio, a media which held its 87th anniversary on August 22.
Romero and Rodriguez, consider that this book represents the passion and dedication for Radio that Josefa, former vice-president and artist emeritus of Cuban Radio and Television Institute feels for the media.
Finally the also author of the books:”Rostros que se escuchan” and “Otros rostros” thanked Fermin Romero and Fernando Rodríguez for their nice words; likewise her colleagues from broadcasting and journalism, who shared with her that day, an only and unrepeatable moment in an her life.
She briefly explained, among other things, that her inspiration to write the book: “Silencio…se habla” was her passion for Radio, a media that she has understood as a source of ethic, humanism and sensibility. The process of writing, publishing and production of the book took ten years of her life, she ended.
