Ricardo Alarcón, president of the Cuban Parliament, stressed in Havana city the justice, democracy and openness of the political system of the nation, absorbed  in the election of delegates of the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power, which will develop from February 24th to March 24th.

Alarcón announced that all over the nation will make more than 50 thousand assemblies to nominate the candidates for these charges, propose and nominate the men and women who by their merits and capacities can represent them before the local organs of the government, not as in many parts of the world where political parties take over that right.

He warned that to the extent that such assemblies are an expression of collective will that this is an authentic process, profound, serious, engaging the leadership of the people, the delegate of their choice in next April, will have more support for their community, and it can act effectively.

The also member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Cuba stressed that there has always been and will be campaigns against the Cuban Revolution and its political system because those who attack and criticize have been attempted for a long time the idea of the democracy to prostitute and forge it.

In Cuba, the people has the right to elect and be elected, as has the right to health, education, social security, unlike other countries where political parties or electoral machines make fraud, falsifying data, declared sententiously the Parliament’s president.

Here this "machinery" to form 8 million 400 thousand electors , which may suggest the person wishing to run for delegate of the People, and later by direct secret ballot to choose the best, who will represent them in the Municipal Assemblies of  People’s Power, he stated.

The legislative leader emphasized that once the voting concluded, the counting of ballots is done in the presence of the voters, it is public and openness and he recalled that Bush Plan in one of its chapters relates to the elimination of this electoral system once the Cuban revolution was overthrown.
