Cuba´s Radio Musical Nacional radio station (CMBF) will air the feature “La Traviata del Siglo” next April 24 on its show “La Vieja Postal”. This docudrama will have artists like multi-awarded Teresa Rua, young girl Jahelys Vazquez Milares and great soprano Maria Eugenia Barrios. This renowned cast also includes Marta Jimenez Oropesa, a 91-year-old radio actress with the National Radio Award.
The Radio docudrama comprises performance, special effects, music from the cultural heritage preserved by CMBF, and even creativity. It also includes a letter written by Maria Callas found in a Champaign bottle, a copy of which was treasure by different generations of the family.
Also included in the show is a recording which was made over 50years ago of “La Traviata del Siglo” during its performance at the Alla Scalla de Milan.
The director of the Cuban Radio Web Site Miguelito Ojeda, said that La Vieja Postal show will celebrate the 62nd anniversary of CMBF radio station as well as the first time La Traviata was sung by soprano Maria Eugenia Barrios, 40 years ago. La Vieja Postal show, promoted by specialist Julio Gallo, will also celebrate its 15 anniversary, a show.
