Outstanding announcer and National Radio laureate Francisco Rivero Rodriguez suddenly died at the age of 75 years in the eastern city of Camaguey.

Rivero was from Villa Clara province; he moved later to Camaguey province, where he worked as an announcer at local radio stations since he was a young man. He was member of the July 26th Movement and supported just causes of the Cuban people. After the 1959 revolutionary triumph, Rivero quitted his job as an announcer to take other responsibilities in the Communist Party, the Provincial Culture Office, the radio and particularly at the Cadena
Agramonte radio station.

Over the past 15 years and until his death, Rivero led a popular radio
