Cuban president Raul Castro in popular parade

At 8:00 am began the May Parade presided by Cuban president and Army General, Raul Castro Ruz, with the presence of the main leaders of the Revolution and the representatives of the international trade unions, participants to the attacks to Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes garrisons as well as members of political organizations. 

Salvador Valdes Mesa, Politburo member and Secretary General of the Cuban Workers Union (CTC) was responsible for the central words of the popular parade, arguing called on all Cubans to confront the complex age of hazards and risks that threaten humanity with global crisis of capitalism.

The duty is to align ourselves convinced that we must break rules, said the leader of the Cuban workers organization in his speech. He called on to read and analyze the speech of Raul in the Ninth Congress of the Communist Young Union because the economical struggle is the most important activity to preserve our achievements.

Valdés Mesa congratulated all the compatriots in the world to raise the name of Cuba in areas such as health and education, and made a call to all organizations in solidarity to demand the end of the commercial and financial blockade, unfairly and inhumanely imposed by United States against Cuba.

Cuban people celebrate another International Workers Day with the strength of the Unity and Ideas, as expressed our historical leader Fidel Castro, his concept of Revolution ten years ago at the Revolution Square.  

The parade was started by a first block composed of young students from Vladimir Ilich Lenin School of Art Instructors School as a banner carrying the beloved figures our national hero, Jose Marti, Ernesto Che Guevara main inspiration of the internationalist vocation and Camilo Cienfuegos, the unforgettable hero of the Revolution.

The youthful enthusiasm overflowing accompanying the parade on May Day in the Revolution Square a giant called "The Great mountain range ", which symbolizes the continuity of generations, those generations that never fail the legacy of their national heroes.
