The twenty fifth anniversary of the creation of the Monitoring and Information Analysis Center was celebrated in La Habana. In a simple act, the work of this group was recognized and considered a defensive shield against the radio aggressions to Cuba.
The institution was created in 1985, as a response to the provocation of the Reagan government when Radio Marti was created, a subversive radio station set up in Washington and later in Miami. It was created to destabilize the island and eliminate the Cuban Revolution. The Centre is subordinated to the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television(ICRT), and is deployed to monitor and analyze the programming of subversive radio stations which broadcast from the United States and other countries violating international agreements and as well as broadcasting a distorted and malicious information about the Cuban reality.
The group of analysts, recorders and editors, who are part of a local delegation of the Association of Cuban Journalists (UPEC), attached to the Cuban Radio, show a great stoic dedication by having to work with confidential information, which includes manipulations and rumors about the Cuban Revolution and our leaders, and calls for insurrection, assassination and other practices that have been applied against Cuba by the successive U.S. administrations.
The head of the Ideological Department of the Central Committee, Rolando Alfonso Borges said that our enemies can not be aware the real purpose of our Revolution, and the work of this center have been highly valuable in denouncing the Anti Cuban policy of the U.S, particularly the economical, financial and commercial blockade as well as other media campaigns in order to overthrow our socio-political order.
The act was also attended by the president of the ICRT, Danilo Sirio and other representatives of the Cuban Radio, UPEC and founders of the Center.
